Isn't That Something

This week's Isn't That Something post is brought to you by my wandering mind. I don't know about you, but sometimes my creative tank just feels drained and I need something to kindle my imagination. I believe that anything can inspire - a song, story, image, even a beautiful new handbag - so here is a compilation of random, yet interesting tidbits that I hope inspire or maybe just intrigue you...

My favorite site for beautiful (and free) images, as demonstrated above.

The Cosmic Dancer: How to talk to your daughter about her body. If you have a daughter, are a daughter, or know someone who is a daughter, then you need to read this. So, yes, everyone needs to read this.

Speaking of females, if you're already on the hunt for some unique gift ideas, here's a lovely idea for the health conscious ladies in your life. It's like the fit, only pretty. And speaking of pretty, I heart this bag so much. Did you get that, Santa?

This song has been on repeat in our house, leading to our toddler's new favorite phrase, "Hello, it's me," mercifully ending the constant request for "Nae Nae." Adele for the win!

And if you need help getting that song out of your head, Coldplay just announced the release date for their new album and debuted a new single - Adventure Of A Lifetime. I can't wait for December 4th!

Have you read A Cup of Jo? It's one of my favorite blogs, full of fun and witty things like this game, which I can't wait to try out over the weekend and see where it takes us!

An interesting description of the modern family, is it as accurate for your household as it is mine? And in related news, who really runs the house?

Sweater weather, not parka weather. Thank you, El Nino! And if you're on the hunt for a great new book to read while you cozy up by the fire this winter, I recommend this one if you haven't read it yet.

I'm not going to lie, while I hate the title, I am intrigued by this trailer.

Which leads to the final something to close out my list, a very important something. A few weeks ago I wrote about gun violence and the need to do something. Well, a dear and incredibly talented friend of mine, Valerie Groth, is not just doing something, she's doing something extraordinary. Click here to learn about Chicago's first ever boarding school for inner city youth, the Ryan Banks Academy, and how you can help this worthy cause.

Have a great weekend all!
