Thank you for teaching your children how to open doors,

Thank you for exemplifying partnership in all you do,

from laundry, dishes and cooking, to mopping up the floors.

Thank you for carrying heavy loads,

long nights and endless meetings, to toddlers climbing on your back.

Thank you for telling stories,

tales to entertain at bed, and tales to encourage and share lessons learned.

Thank you for loving well,

in the hard times and the good; when it's easy and it's not.

Thank you for living by example,
in not just what you say, but what you do. 

Thank you for being here. For the soccer games, ballet recitals, family dinner nights, s'mores by the campfire, dance parties, bike rides, story time and backyard baby pools. And for the scraped knees, boo boo kisses, thrown peas, exploding diapers, sleepless nights, broken bikes, sibling fights, and temper tantrums, too.
